Seating

Petco Park is an open roof stadium in southern California, therefore expect mild to even windy temperatures. It's not a bad idea to bring a light jacket to the park especially for night games. I would recommend you sit either behind home plate, or along the third base line to avoid getting tan.

Parking

This being San Diego, parking is going to be a little more pricey but downtown is quite walkable. Go with ParkWhiz. There are three locations which I recommend you park at which are just to the west of the stadium: The Omni San Diego Hotel, The Hard Rock Hotel and The Marriott Gaslamp Quarter Hotel. Luckily, for the three times I have parked in these locations the parking price was between $10-$15 but be prepared to pay about $25 minimum.

Entrances

Assuming you used my advice and parked to the west of the stadium, you will enter through the Gaslamp Gate which is on 7th Ave next to the Omni Hotel. This gate has 8 security entrances all accepting bags, but the two on the far left are primarily for exit/re-entry. All regular gates open 90 minutes before game time.
